Stevie Williams

Stevie Williams (born December 17, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a professional street skateboarder. Stevie Williams appears in the video game Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, Tony Hawk's Project 8 and Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. He also appears as a secret character in NFL Street 2.

Williams, who grew up in North Philadelphia, became interested in skateboarding at a very young age, when he was exposed to the passionate and aggressive Philadelphia skateboarding scene. Williams got his first skateboard at the age of 11 and would always be seen on the streets skateboarding. He and his friends were often taunted at the local skate arena as "Dirty Ghetto Kids", but his passion for skateboarding did not change.

After being sponsored by DC Shoes for six years, Stevie Williams left to be the first skateboarder to be sponsored by Reebok in 2004 and was the foundation for their skateboarding shoes line.<ref name="DGK">Transowrld Skateboarding, Stevie & Rbk, Cairo on Krux, Curtin Pro, and more, 17. In 2006, Williams opened a skate shop L&K Limited in Oceanside, California together with Nick Lockman.<ref>Transworld Skateboarding, L&K Limited Opening, 13. November 2006</ref>

Stevie appeared in the music video for "Kick, Push" by Lupe Fiasco.

He has also appeared in the Tony Hawk series of video games, with his first appearance in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. His appearance in Tony Hawk's Proving Ground was obvious due to a screenshot seen on the Planet Tony Hawk official update page of a skater wearing a DGK hat and T-shirt, besides the fact that the game has been released and he has several missions for which your character can completeTemplate:Fact

Williams is the owner and founder of DGK Skateboards with the financial backing of the Kayo Corp. Williams got the idea for the name 'Dirty Ghetto Kids' from the rival skate team in his hometown of Philadelphia who told filmers "dont film them there dirty ghetto kids". DGK is now partnered with Reebok and now shoes as well as apparel are sold under the DGK RBK name.
